Grow Skills and Confidence Together

Sit Means Sit offers Group Classes to help clients and their dogs in the Nickel City who have completed our initial training programs continue building on their skills. Led by our professional trainers, our engaging, social sessions are designed to instill good behaviors in your dog and advance their training.

What You Can Expect With Group Dog Training

Our Group Classes provide a supportive, structured environment for dogs to practice obedience, strengthening their focus and socialization skills under the guidance of our experienced trainers. We’ll challenge your dog to learn advanced commands and tricks while interacting confidently with new people and furry friends.

Eligibility for Group Classes

To join our Group Classes in Buffalo, your dog must first complete an initial Sit Means Sit training program such as Day Train. These private sessions lay the crucial groundwork, teaching core obedience and proper manners that set your dog up for success in a group setting. By mastering the basics, your dog will be ready to thrive when facing new distractions and challenges.

Class Structure and Schedule

Our Group Classes meet for 45 minutes to an hour, three times per week and include a variety of activities and training exercises, such as advanced heel, remote sit and recall. They are led by our expert trainers who work closely with your pup to build upon their progress from their initial one-on-one sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions About Group Dog Classes

Can I sign up for Group Classes without completing initial training?

No, our group training sessions are not a standalone program. You and your dog must  first complete Day Train to join us. If you are interested in signing up for one of these initial programs first, please contact us at (716) 320-1565 or fill out our contact form.

What is the difference between individual training and group training?

Our individual training programs focus on teaching core obedience and manners one-on-one by a certified trainer who tailors each session to your dog’s unique needs. Our Group Class is a follow-up program that helps your dog master those basic skills and practice new tricks around distractions.

How do I know if my dog is ready for Group Classes?

We want to set every dog up for success, so completing our initial private training sessions is the first step before joining our fun and enriching Group Classes. This ensures your dog has a solid foundation in the fundamentals to thrive in the group setting as they continue advancing their training. We also require DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations to attend Group Classes.

What Buffalo Dog Owners Are Saying

Walking Is So Much Better Now
“Wow! What a change in Mira! No more twirling and lunging at other dogs. Walking is so much better with her now. She loves coming to training! I can’t thank the staff enough, always helpful and very patient with training the dog and the human!”
Karen H.
Patient Trainer Turned Bad Behavior Around
“Highly recommend Sit Means Sit for behavior modification for reactive dogs. My 4-year-old terrier mix was becoming increasingly reactive to other dogs and to people. Tom has helped turn that around. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient and effectively communicates what is expected and needed to get the job done. The individualized attention is well worth the cost of the program. Phoebe (and I) still have a way to go but we are looking forward to continued improvements with group classes!”
